At the Floating Lotus Studio we are passionate about health and fitness and bringing the community together to help everyone live with an active, healthy and inspired lifestyle. We have worked hard to create a family friendly space that you will fall in love with as much as we do. A space where you can come take time out for you, to connect with your breath, to move your body and shift the way you think.

Classes to suit all levels from beginner through to advanced

YOGA

Yoga classes are generally infused with Hatha & Vinyasa practices. Hatha is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (yoga breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. Vinyasa essentially means movement synchronized with breath and is a vigorous style based on a rapid flow through sun salutations and a continuous flow from one movement to the next.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga in which poses are held for five minutes or longer. Even though it is passive, yin yoga can be quite challenging due to the long holds, particularly if your body is not used to it. The purpose is to apply moderate stress to the connective tissue – the tendons, fascia and ligaments – with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.

ASHTANGA YOGA

Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga that was brought to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga yoga practiced in its correct sequential order, gradually leads the practitioner to rediscover his or her fullest potential on all levels of human consciousness – physical, psychological and spiritual.  This class provides Yogis with an introduction to the Primary Series and through this deep disciplined practice we gain control of the senses and a deep awareness of ourselves. By maintaining this discipline with regularity and devotion, one acquires steadiness of body and mind.

PILATES

Pilates is a mat class based on the principles of Joseph Windsor Pilates, we focus on gentle movements and correct engagement of the pelvic floor and abdominals to help strengthen the core and protect the back. We work on various muscle groups each class but usually targeting the butt, thighs, abs, arms and back. It’s a fun class that will get you sweating, burning fat and toning your muscles.

PILATES BARRE

Pilates Barre is an energetic class designed to get your heart rate pumping and all of the muscle groups firing to loud energetic music. It’s an amazing class mixed with principles from the art of dance and Joseph Windsor Pilates. This class is fantastic for toning, weight loss and getting those good endorphins running!

PRIVATE 1:1

Private 1:1 yoga sessions allows for a more intimate view into your practice. It’s perfect if you wish to start out in a new practice beginning with the basics or help you to advance your current practice. This session will be tailored to your personal health and wellness goals. It’s prefect for those who experience limitations due to injuries etc. The private session can include mat work, goal setting, nutrition, philosophy, personal coaching or we can create a personal fitness program suitable for you. Private 1:1 sessions are an investment into your health, personal & physical growth for all clients.

PRE & POST NATAL CLASSES

Pre & Post Natal Classes (Yoga & Pilates) are designed for both mum’s-to-be and mum’s with young bub’s (recommended 2-8 months). These classes are a perfect way to bond with your bub while connecting with other mum’s over a fun workout, with no judgement or expectation, only compassion. You will be given safe adjustments, with focus on the breath,  pelvic floor toning and calming the mind to prepare the body for motherhood.   

We also provide some toys but please feel free to bring a favourite toy or snack for your little one.

KIDS YOGA

Kids Yoga is designed for kids aged between 5 yrs – 11 yrs. We run the class similar to an adult class, however it’s so much more fun! We start with a chat about gratitude and pranayama (breathing exercise), then practice sun salutations, yoga games and finish with 5 min savasana (relaxation). It’s a great way for kids to relax, work on flexibility, learn skills to help them maintain inner calm, confidence, balance and a strong core centre. A great uplifting class to help create the important building blocks that will help them navigate through social life, school, puberty and later on in life.

MEDITATION

Meditation class is for all customers who would like to recharge their mind. With meditation, the physiology undergoes a change and every cell in the body is filled with more prana (energy). This results in joy, peace, enthusiasm as the level of prana in the body increases. Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into an Alpha state that promotes healing. The mind becomes fresh, delicate and beautiful.
