Yoga Balance

Yoga Balance is a dynamic class style that is designed to challenge your body and mind in a safe and supportive environments. This humbling practice gives you the space to explore your body’s capabilities with an in-depth focus on correct alignment and muscle activation. Different options are provided by our teachers when moving to more challenging postures, encouraging you to listen to your body and take the option that best suits you.
All classes at the Floating Lotus Studio cater for all levels, ages, genders and body types. Yoga Balance is particularly suited for those looking to take their practice to a more advanced level, to challenge themselves so to overcome mental or physical blockages and fears, or simply to tap into their inner child, loosen up, get upside down and have a bit of fun!

Yoga Flow

Yoga Flow is an energising class style that focusses on the unification of movement and breath. This steadily paced practice warms the body, building both strength and flexibility, and focusses the mind, encouraging greater mind-body awareness as you move fluidly from posture to posture.
All classes at the Floating Lotus Studio are designed to cater for all levels, ages, genders and body types. Yoga Flow is particularly beneficial if you are looking to deepen your yoga practice, gain a better understanding of how your breath affects your mind and body, or looking to increase your fitness and tone up outside of a gym environment.

Yoga Stretch

Yoga Stretch is a low intensity class that focusses on gently opening the body in order to leave you feeling restored and rejuvenated. The slower pace of this class allows you the time and space for reflection and encourages you to cultivate deeper internal awareness through mindful movement and breath work.
All classes at the Floating Lotus Studio are designed to cater for all levels, ages, genders and body types. Yoga Stretch is particularly beneficial if you are at the very beginning of your yoga journey, are recovering from injury or illness, or are looking for a stretch out to compliment your personal fitness regime.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue of the body (fascia) that normally is not exercised very much in a more active style of practice. By stretching and strengthening the fascia, you can increase joint mobility, flexibility and circulation. Yin postures are passive and mostly floor-based allowing you to completely surrender and disengage muscular effort. Postures are generally held for 3-7 minutes at a time using a number of props to maximise comfort. Long holds can be both physically and mentally challenging, requiring you to search for stillness in both mind and body. This stillness in turn calms the mind and body which can help reduce levels of stress and anxiety.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga is a practice passed down from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois where students practice an exact sequence of postures, outlined in six different series. In our led Ashtanga class, the teacher will guide you through the sequencing of the first series. This powerful, healing practice, links breath (pranayama) and movement (vinyasa.) in an athletic flow combining strength, flexibility and stamina for a complete practice.

PRIVATE 1:1

Private 1:1 yoga sessions allows for a more intimate view into your practice. It’s perfect if you wish to start out in a new practice beginning with the basics or help you to advance your current practice. This session will be tailored to your personal health and wellness goals. It’s prefect for those who experience limitations due to injuries etc. The private session can include mat work, goal setting, nutrition, philosophy, personal coaching or we can create a personal fitness program suitable for you. Private 1:1 sessions are an investment into your health, personal & physical growth for all clients.

Pilates

Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance through the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination, stability and balance. In our mat Pilates classes we focus on gentle movements and correct engagement of the pelvic floor and abdominals to help strengthen the core and protect the back. We work on various muscle groups each class, usually targeting the glutes, thighs, abs, arms and back. It’s a fun class that will get you sweating, burning fat and toning your muscles.

Barre

Barre classes are a full body workout that fuse the best elements of ballet, Pilates, sports conditioning and stretching for a truly unique and fun experience. our classes focus on precision and proper form; using smaller movements to isolate specific muscle groups that aren’t regularly used. This class is fantastic for toning to build long, lean muscle, weight loss and getting those good endorphins running!

MEDITATION

Meditation class is for all customers who would like to recharge their mind. With meditation, the physiology undergoes a change and every cell in the body is filled with more prana (energy). This results in joy, peace, enthusiasm as the level of prana in the body increases. Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into an Alpha state that promotes healing. The mind becomes fresh, delicate and beautiful.

PRE & POST NATAL CLASSES

Pre & Post Natal Classes (Yoga & Pilates) are designed for both mum’s-to-be and mum’s with young bub’s (recommended 2-8 months). These classes are a perfect way to bond with your bub while connecting with other mum’s over a fun workout, with no judgement or expectation, only compassion. You will be given safe adjustments, with focus on the breath,  pelvic floor toning and calming the mind to prepare the body for motherhood.

We also provide some toys but please feel free to bring a favourite toy or snack for your little one.

KIDS YOGA

Kids Yoga is designed for kids aged between 5 yrs – 11 yrs. We run the class similar to an adult class, however it’s so much more fun! We start with a chat about gratitude and pranayama (breathing exercise), then practice sun salutations, yoga games and finish with 5 min savasana (relaxation). It’s a great way for kids to relax, work on flexibility, learn skills to help them maintain inner calm, confidence, balance and a strong core centre. A great uplifting class to help create the important building blocks that will help them navigate through social life, school, puberty and later on in life.
